Katie Franz is a dedicated scientist driven by a passion for innovation and a commitment to honoring the memory of her dear friend, Jace Ward. A proud alumnus of Kansas State University, after graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Katie embarked on a journey in the biotech industry, currently serving as a Research Associate at Exact Science biotech. Inspired by Jace’s unwavering curiosity and belief in the transformative power of science, Katie contributes to cutting-edge research aimed at addressing complex biological challenges. Katie serves on Tough2gether’s research committee planning the Brain Storm Summit research track and lends her expertise to help unravel pediatric brain cancer’s mysteries through strategic initiatives undertaken in collaboration with other foundations and centers of excellence. Leveraging her proficiency in Spanish, Katie provides invaluable assistance to Spanish-speaking families, ensuring they have access to vital information about DIPG and DMG in their preferred language. Katie truly believes through the patient voice influencing the work of scientists we will end pediatric brain cancer as we know it.
